Adam was a bit nervous: today was his first day of work, and he had no idea what to expect. He knew without a trace of doubt that this experience would be nothing like his past couple of jobs - the students here were probably serious musicians, not trashy clubrats. He certainly hoped so, anyway. Being in New York and Las Vegas in the stretch of a couple of years certainly left Adam jaded; his whole view of the world was twisted in a very strange direction.
He had a million thoughts running through his head as he walked to the dining hall for breakfast. He hoped that this whole experience would go smoothly and that he would make some lasting friendships. Adam's past experiences told him not to expect too much, but he couldn't help but hope.
Arriving at the dining hall, he glanced around, looking for an empty area to sit at. There were a few scattered pairs and small groups, but the hall was still mostly empty. Adam wasn't feeling particularly social at the moment; he didn't have it in him to approach a group of strangers, even if they may be a few to several years younger than him.
He picked out a nice table in the corner, leaving behind his sweatshirt and going through the line to get food. He returned quickly, beginning to shove the food into his face in an effort to eat and be out of the dining hall quickly. He didn't want to be there when it got crowded. He needed his space - that's why he was never able to be comfortable in NYC or Vegas.
Adam figured if someone really wanted to approach him that he would be friendly, but he wasn't going to push himself to be social, not on his very first day on the job. He had enough things to worry about.

Allison was one of those girls who were really risers. So she was up before almost all the girls in her cabin. She was use to this by now because she was always last to sleep and first to wake up, it was just kind of her thing. With a big yawn and a long stretch she rolled out of bed. Rubbing her eyes she walked over to her dresser and pulled out some of her clothes. It was nice out as far as she could tell so she wanted something casual. With a smile she trotted over to her bed sitting down and pulled on her clothes and slipped on her socks and shoes. All ready to go she left her cabin and headed down for some breakfast!
It took her a few minutes to get from her cabin to the Lully Hall. She walked in with a smile on her face. Ally was always one to make the best out of almost any situation. Looking around, Well this place is packed she thought to herself with great sarcasm. Chuckling to herself she walked up in the line to get some food. She stopped holding her trey she looked around for maybe a familiar face but alas she did not see one, which she kind of figured because alot of her friends were still sleeping or in class. She shrugged and began to walk through the tables when she noticed a guy she has not seen before just sitting in a corner table, by himself.
She walked over there. Every step she took there seemed to be a small skip in it. She reached his table and with a cute friendly smile she began to speak to him. "Morning. Mind if I join you? she asked. Ally did not really like to be alone all the time, she loved the company of other people. Plus he was NEW! at least to her he was and she wanted to give him a friendly welcome. TAG: Adam OUT FIT: Clickeh!WORD COUNT: 334 NOTE: It's all good, mine is a little short to

Adam was about halfway finished eating his breakfast when he heard a nearby voice. Looking up, he saw that the voice belonged to a girl. She was smiling from ear to ear, looking down expectantly at him. He just stared back at her for a moment. Then, the girl's words finally registered, and Adam realized she was asking to sit with him.
"Oh, um. Yeah, go right ahead," Adam said to the girl, gesturing to the seat across from him. He didn't want to seem rude, despite the fact that he still really wasn't in the mood for company. However, he was a camp counselor, so he needed to suck it up and be social. He wasn't doing his job properly if he didn't. "So, uh... what's your name? I'm Adam. I'm a new counselor." He gave the girl a small smile, hoping that his expression seemed pleasant enough despite his antisocial mood. "What's your name?"
Still feeling kind of awkward, Adam looked down at his food again, fidgeting. He knew that he was supposed to be the one that had it all together, being a great example for the campers, but he wasn't. Sure, he was a great musician and he had all of these unusual life experiences and a great work ethic, but he still felt socially awkward, even around the (only slightly, in some cases) younger campers.

Ally took the seat across from him. She could he was feeling a little awkward but hopefully she could break this in him. He was at camp and there was alot of people to see and mingle with. Setting her trey on the table she looked around for a sec to see if the place was filling up any, and to her surprise it was not. At least not yet. With a small shrug she turned her attention to the new counselor she was now sitting with.
"Oh. Haha I almost forgot my manners" she said with a small laugh, holding her hand out she began to introduce herself. "I'm Allison Adams, but you can call me Ally." She was trying not to make things any more weird for him and hopefully she was doing a good job at this. "Oh your the new counselor, thats cool. Do you play any instruments?" she asked her curiosity was beginning to show through. She couldn't help but think about if he was passionate about his music like she was with her own. Why did he come here exactly. Just random things about him.
Ally looked to her food to see what she would want to eat first. It was a toss up between her fruit in the side dish or her bagel and cream cheese. Moving her finger a little between the two objects she finally decided to go with the fruit. Grabbing the bowl and her fork she began to scoop up her food and taking bites. Being careful not to shove too much in there so she didn't look like a cow and would still be able to respond when he decided to speak again. "So is this your very first day here?" Ally had asked after swallowing a bite she had taken. She was hoping she was not asking too many questions at once, she did not want to seem like she was nosy or trying to pry into his life, she was just curious thats all. Adam smiled slightly as he reached out to shake Ally's outstretched hand. "Nice to meet you Ally. That's funny, 'cause your last name is like my first name... kinda." He chuckled awkwardly at his lame attempt at humor. Adam had a tendency to completely embarrass himself at times. This was definitely one of them.
"I play the trumpet. It's pretty much my life. What about you?" Adam could go on and on for days talking about the trumpet and music in general, but he didn't want to scare the girl off. Not right away, anyway. If she was going to run away from him in terror, he wanted to put it off for a while. Annoying the hell out of people tends to make things pretty weird.
Adam smiled as Ally asked him yet another question. He liked that she was directing the conversation; he wasn't in the mood to just make random small talk. He'd be happy to answer her questions, but he certainly didn't feel like chatting the day away about nothing. "Yep. I'm brand new. I'm definitely looking forward to it, but I'm expecting to feel a little bit lost for a while."

Ally sat down after shaking his hand. She thought he was cute and him getting nervous just made it even better. Ally was not really as nervous because she was a pretty outgoing girl. She was one who loved the little things in life and didn't let things get her down. Laughing a little. OK so it was just a little funny. "Almost huh?" she said with a grin on her face. She leaned over taking a bit of her food. "I don't believe I got your name.." she said after swallowing her bite that was in her mouth.
"Oh that is really cool! I play the Violin as my main instrument here. It's my life as well. My Violin is like my baby I wouldn't know what to do without it" She said giggling a little. "How long have you been playing the Trumpet?" She couldn't help but let the questions just kind of flow out of her mouth. She was curious and it was also keeping a conversation going. Plus she figured the more they talked the less awkward it would be for them.
"That is really cool, we need more counselors here!" Ally was starting to like him, he seemed really nice she just needed to get him to talk a little more make things less nerve wrecking for him. "Well if you ever need any help getting situated or finding your way around, I would be glad to help you out" Ally's smile danced across her face. Looking around the room as it began to fill a little more, yet she still did not find anyone she knew, at least she did not see them right at the moment. Turning back letting her gaze fall upon the man across from her at the table she began to eat a little. Her stomach couldn't help but make a little noise, she was pretty hungry. Ally was surprised nothing has gone wrong yet, considering she was rather clumsy most of the time. She tapped the bottom of the table quietly so no one would notice. She was hoping for good luck that way she would not jinx herself. Ally did not really want to embarrass herself just yet.
