There was a loud beeping noise at the side of kailey's bed she moaned and hit the snooze button, She looked at the clock it read 5:00 pm, She dragged her self out of bed and got dressed in jeans, And a white tank top, She walked out of her room and out the door, On her way grabbing a plaid shirt, some sneakers and her guitar in its case, She was going to the bonfire at the camp that was very close by,
It was named "John williams music camp" she went here often, To meet new people who shared an interest in music, Just as she did, She was reaching the entrance of the camp, How did she know? she could hear the off key notes but also the perfect playing of the third strings, She smiled to her self and shoved the guitar up father on her shoulder, The bonfire would be going by now

Drake walked down to the beach (which he found himself doing more and more often the longer he was here) and immediately could tell there was a fire glowing somewhere beside the tides. He could never mistake the smell of roasting logs beneath a perfect night sky like this evening was dwindling into. All day the talk had been around the camp. There was to be a welcome bonfire for all the new and old campers tonight. Instruments were encouraged to be brought and talents were to be happily shared. Drake wondered which of his songs he should play in the fire's glow. Most of his had already been premiered whilst in the process of trying to make new friends here. He wanted to highlight something unique. Something no one had heard before. He slung his guitar over his shoulder and tucked his binder of handwritten sheet music beneath one arm. He'd decide what he would play once he got there. Maybe inspiration would come after hearing a few of the others play.
Looking ahead on the path, Drake saw a blonde walking down as well. He did not recognize her as a camper, but still, she looked familiar somehow. Either way, she couldn't be all that bad - she had a guitar on her shoulder. He trotted up to where she was. "Hey there. Are you a camper here? I don't think I've seen you around here before." She loved the feel of sand on her feet so she walked bare foot, when she was little her and her family, Cousins and mother and father, went to the beach and played in the waves of the blue lake near her old beach house. She was getting closer she could tell by the increase in people with happy smiling faces, Excited to meet everyone no doubt, Kaylie found herself smiling as well, People who smile always make kaylie smile, They are contagious.
She was almost at the camp when a boy approached her "Hey there. Are you a camper here? I don't think I've seen you around here before." He said and Kaylie looked at him and laughed "Uh.. no im not a camper i live in edgeville, Thats probably why i just moved here," she said continuing to walk along the path knowing that the boy, Who looked vaguely familiar would follow, Those eyes and that smile, It was odd. But she shook off the feeling and then said "First year at camp?" she asked giving him a smirk. she pushed her hair behind her shoulder. They were getting close the smoke was getting more visible

Drake looked out on the horizon where a thickening curl of smoke rose against the amber skies of sunset. He knew the resilient hues of the dying day would be reflected in the flames of the bonfire, and this excited Drake. He always had an uncanny attraction to fire. To the way it moved and made it's place in the world. He envied it, really. How could it be so free? So unchanging and untamed? This wondering caused his pace to quicken, edgy to see the bonfire for himself.
Then he stopped and looked back, remembering the girl he had met on the path. He slowed down so they were within reasonable talking distance of each other and listened as she explained that she lived in Edgeville and that she had just moved here recently. That seemed to be a more and more common case around here. Drake figured he would have to adjust to thickening crowds after spending most of his life in a small town on a wide-spread ranch. He nodded in reply to her inquiry about his newness to the camp. "I just came a few weeks ago. Back home - well, I needed a change of scenery to get away from some things." Drake stopped himself before he revealed more than he meant to. He hadn't come to terms with the last few months yet, but he didn't want any sympathy. He got enough of that back home. "It is rather uncanny how familiar you look. Are you sure we haven't met somewhere before?" he asked. Drake wasn't the kind to meet somebody and forget them the next day. He prided himself on his memory. Tagged: Kaylie / open!

Kailey now saw the bonfire a few more steps and they would be in the camp territory, she looked back at the boy. "I know how you feel" she said sympathetically. she jerked her head to look at him and said "Uh... No i dont think we have, Well unless your like my stalker" she said jokingly and smiled at him "Why do you ask?" she said really wondering why he had said that, But now flashes of her and her younger cousin were going off in her head. she shook her head knowing it was such a crazy thought. Her memory was bad, She was not likely to remember her own cell phone is it was not acquitted to her jean pocket all the time. She scratched her head and thought. As the bonfire came into view, Her facial expression changed, Into one of worry, She liked bon fires, and smores But when she was 13 her shoulder had caught into the blaze, She looked at her shoulder now, Even in the dim light you could see the angry burn down it. Her cousins were there it was all fun and games
