Ruby needed to get away from the camp for a little while. Well more like a long while. She had to spend the week at the residences to help the new campers get settled and she swore that some of those girls were mentally retarded. And if she heard another girl say. Oh my god. She would kill them. And she wouldn't be afraid to do so.
Jumping into her car she sped out of the camp parking lock and down the road. Taking deep breaths as she clenched the wheel. Trying to calm herself down. She needed a drink and she needed one now. Pealing into the parking lock she slammed the door of her Impala 67 and marched down the sidewalk. Moving into the building she moved past everyone and took a seat at the bar.
"Jack...Something strong please."She called to the bartender who only laughed and nodded his head. It was a usual for her to go to the bar and get a drink or two...or five. Shaking her head she leaned down to the bar. "I don't know why I do this ever year, Jake! Those girls are so...ugh!" She lifted her head to grab the glass he set down. "Oh...Thank you."She mused.
Taking a sip she sighed. "Mmm...Good whiskey...Strong and to the point...Good taste...Thank you Jack."She stated giving him a smile before leaning her head in her hand taking another sip. She just needed to unwind. Let herself go a little bit and keep herself on ends.
Leaning back she tapped her fingers on the bar. Slowly starting a beat. A small smile moved on to her lips and her fingers moved quickly to a quick pace rhythm ending it by flicking her glass have the ice tick around the small glass. Music. It always did her good.
Taking a look around made Ruby sigh. Honestly it was as if everyone in town finally coupled up. It wasn't that she couldn't get a guy. It was that she couldn't keep one. She would rather hang out with them instead of date them. She was a good looking girl and she got numbers all the time it was that she was to damn picky.
Shrugging it off she took another sip of her drink and stared a head of her. Thinking about what this summer would have in store for her. She honestly didn't think about it all that often. Usually she just went through the summer with out getting to know anyone. But maybe she needed to do that. Get some friends to drink with. Who was she kidding? Most of the people at camp couldn't even drive.
Laughing lightly she took another sip of her drink and smiled to herself. She just needed to talk to people. Make some friends and maybe that will help her get over her pickiness. That only caused her to laugh a bit more. But then again everything should be attempted at least once.
Leaning her head back she closed her eyes. Spinning her glass around in her hands slowly. Just trying to wrap her head around things. But it was only stressing her out more. Biting her lip she looked around once more trying to find something worth attempting. Something worth her time. Someone worth her time. Not that she thought she was special or one of a kind. But someone who would actually make a good friend and not someone who was so wrapped up in who did what and who said what.
